About Costa del la Luz
With miles of unspoilt beaches backed by dunes and pine forests, Costa De La Luz, also known as the 'coast of light', is fast becoming a popular holiday destination. Located on the Andalusian coast facing the Atlantic, Costa De La Luz offers a break away from the hectic resorts and high-rise hotels that can be found in other destinations such as Costa Del Sol. With quaint towns steeped in history and dating back to Moorish times, fantastic activities to enjoy, nature reserves to explore and glorious sunshine from April to October, there is no better choice for that perfect package holiday.
When to visit Costa De La Luz
The peak months of July and August offer up to 11 hours of sunshine each day, with temperatures reaching highs of 28°c. The shoulder seasons of spring and autumn are slightly cooler, with temperatures ranging from 20°c to 27°c.
Where to stay in Costa De La Luz
The resorts of Tarifa in the south and Cadiz further up along the coastline are both highly recommended for a wonderfully relaxing holiday. With luxury low-rise hotels and accommodations that appeal to both adults and children alike, these locations are the best choice for a family holiday. Visit Cadiz in the spring and experience the Cadiz Carnival. Another great place to stay is the small town of Jerez, especially in early May as the Feria del Coballo fiesta is in full-swing, featuring a horse fair, bull-fighting displays and flamenco events.
