Cala Ratjada  Holidays

About Cala Ratjada

Beautiful Cala Ratjada is a seaside resort that sits on the north east of Majorca. Surrounded by picturesque coves, golden sand beaches, and lush hills, Cala Ratjada has become the favourite Mediterranean getaway of thousands of holidaymakers. Traditional whitewashed houses line the pretty streets of this resort town, built on a scenic peninsula.

When to Go

As a leading sun and beach destination, Cala Ratjada benefits from balmy weather through most of the year. The temperatures start to climb towards the end of April, when average daytime temperatures are around 18°C. July and August are the hottest months, with average temperatures being around 25°C. At this time of the year, visitors can enjoy up to 13 hours of sunshine a day and average sea temperatures of 25°C. The pleasant weather lasts well into October, although frequent rain showers start towards the end of this month and last until February.

Where to Stay

There are more than 15,000 hotel beds in and around Cala Ratjada. The accommodation options range from inexpensive all inclusive resorts located just a few steps away from the beach to spacious and comfortable self catering apartment units boasting modern amenities and great views over the marina. There are also superb 4-star beach hotels and aparthotels that are great for a family holiday or for a romantic break in sunny Cala Ratjada.

Attractions & Events

Cala Ratjada's beaches are the focal point of the resort. Beaches like La Pedruscada, Cala Ratjada, and Son Moll are the closest to the town centre and boast excellent water quality, watersports equipment rental, and gorgeous views. Further away you'll find secluded coves like Cala Gat, Cala Agulla, L'Olla, Cala Molto and Cala Lliteres. The area around Cala Mesquida is now a protected natural space and the perfect destination for birdwatchers and hikers. Along the town's waterfront you'll be spoilt for choice in terms of cafes, restaurants, and tapas bars.

If you visit Cala Ratjada in May, don't miss the Medieval Festival in nearby Capdepera. In August, free concerts and theatre performances are on display in this area too.
