Alykanas is near to the neighbouring resort of Alykes and with less than 1 km between the two it is a pleasurable and easy flat walk from one resort to the other. Alykanas is nestled amongst olive groves and surrounded by lush green scenery. It is a quiet resort, with a friendly, relaxing atmosphere that becomes livelier in the peak season. The beach is a continuation of Alykes beach and has the same soft sand and clear waters. This year the water sports have relocated from Alykes to Alykanas, so there are now a wider range of water sports to keep visitors to Alykanas occupied, such as pedaloes, bingos, paragliding, banana boat and much more! The resort has plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and tavernas, sure to suit everyone and has in particular a good reputation for having several fine fish restaurants. On the outskirts of Alykanas, is the original village of Alykanas now called old Alykanas. This charming village is near the coast, has retained its customary Greek feel and has a handful of tavernas and accommodation ideal for those wishing to experience traditional Zante in a quiet and beautiful area.
